Wow, lets say a tampon is stuck. Not in the cervix, hopefully. How long do u hav!

Question: Don't panic. This is not an "every second counts" situation, with your life on the line. There are women who've left one in for weeks and lived to tell the tale (though they're usually too embarrassed to tell it :D). It's more important not to hurt yourself trying to get it out.

It's very doubtful that it's stuck in your cervix (that would involve dilation, which most women would find painful). But there's a bit of room around your cervix, as you can see from this diagram:

So it might have gotten lost up there. Try to feel around for it.

This problem is so common there's actually quite a few tip pages to help. Here's one:

Worst comes to worst, your gynecologist can get it out in about twenty seconds.

You should get it out immediately! Fortunately, you don't have to worry as much about that toxic shock syndrome and whatnot as many brands of tampons are made differently now, but you should still get it out immediately as having any tampon in too long makes you extremely prone to bacterial infection. Depnding on what brand it is, if left in too long, it could start to fall apart, too. that happened to a friend of mine, but luckily, she got the whole thing out.

What do you mean stuck? Like the string is gone? You should be able to get it out with 2 fingers. If not, go to the ER before you get a yucky infection.

It doesnt usually get stuck... but if this happens, dont worry it will fall out by itself.

stuck??? how'd that happen?
and yes, you should be able to reach up there and get it out and if not don't be embarrassed to go to the emergency room for someone to get it out.

That has happened to me before but the key is to relax just take some deep breaths okay breathe and then reach into your you know and pull it out with at least two or three fingers.

they should only be in for a maximum of 8 hours any longer higher risk if toxic shock syndrome and it can kill you
