i was also diagnosed with pcos but only a week ago. if you are trying to concieve now then you can talk about it with your gp and they can advise you on how to make it more likely. they can prescribe you drugs which help you ovulate like clomid. i dont think you can buy it over the counter though. but if you have the side effects they usually recommend you go on the pill as apparently it helps try and balance your hormones out and regulates your period again as its dangerous to not have any for a certain amount of time. but if you tell them you want to concieve asap they should give you the help you need. good luck my fingers are crossed for you i know its hard time right now, i feel the same and im only 19.

I think you should be asking your docter that thaat the best person you can ask in these types of matters...

I have pcos too and in the near future planning to get pregnant. I would recommend seeing a reproductive endocrinologist...they specialize in this and fertility. My doctor put me on metformin and said that when we are ready to try clomid. She said that clomid works better combined with metformin. It may be more difficult to conceive with pcos but its definitely possible. Folic acid doesn't help with conception just helps prevent neural tube birth defects. Medications usually do the trick but sometimes it take other measures...Good Luck and do some research.

Every woman is born the amount of eggs she will have for her entire life, you can't make more, you only mature them & then release them through ovulation. when a follicle matures, it either release an egg or can become With PCOS, you are making cysts & not ovulating. If you are overweight, it would help to lose some weight. It has a lot to do with insulin & so therefore you may be put on a drug called metformin to decrease insulin levels & Clomid to stimulate ovulation. You should also check out this website:

It is not good not to have the period because your risk of endometrial cancer is higher, so the immediate need is to have the period.
