My new fitness plan, please answer?!

Question: I just joined Goodlife fitness center(in canada) and i just went for my first time today.

im 15. and im going to try to eat healthy, and me and my mom go there 2-3 times a week for about 2 hours(sometimes more)
I plan on going to the tredmill(fast walking) for 30 minutes, the recumbent bike for 30 minutes and the Elliptical Trainer for also 30 minutes.
i'm 160 pounds and 5'6. I want to get toner and tighter before summer, do you think this will work? how much weight do you think i will weigh before summer?

For some reason, i want to push myself to the limit, i want to lose weight NOW, i always try to over exercise.
Will i look "skinner" or "slimmer" by the summer? I want to give up sometimes cause i always think i will look fat forever.
How big of a change before the summer?

Congrats on wanting to become healthier. Working out with somebody is great because they can give you motivation. All of the things you mention: treadmill, bike, elliptical, they're all fantastic for getting in shape. However, you say 'you want to push yourself to the limit and always try to over exercise.' There is a point to where you do overexercise and that is NOT a good thing. When you're doing too much your body will let you know - listen to it! And also, eat healthy foods and proteins to give you energy. If you don't have energy or are not eating the right foods, you'll get tired faster while working out. Everybody is different. There is no certain amount of how much weight you will lose or how fast you'll lose it - everyone's body is built a different way. Try not to focus so much on being skinnier, but being healthier.

12 or more a month =D wow your gonna be really healthy

Hi. I think you are doing way too much in the way of aerobics, and this will NOT help you in the long run. Short term, any change (beginning exercise vs. formerly not exercising) is going to produce results. This is why all those exercise machines on TV are guaranteed for 90 days. Everyone just starting out makes progress in the first 90 days.

You are doing too much aerobics, not enough weight training, and your workouts are TOO LONG. You should be in and out of the gym in an hour tops, if you are just lifting. If you are lifting and doing some aerobics afterwards, then lift for 45 minutes then do 30 minutes of aerobics. But you will have to work up to this.

In order to make long term progress, you need to learn how to train properly. I would recommend using weights to first get in shape, then build some muscle mass. This may temporarily increase your bodyweight at first, but as you add more muscle, your metabolism will dramatically increase and then the fat will start coming off of you very quickly, and it will be much easier to lose the weight in the long term, and keep it off.

Charles Poliquin is widely regarded as the best trainer in the world. I would recommend you visit his site. T Nation.com is another excellent workout site. I would recommend you visit it too.

Good luck with your fitness plan.
