Since she is on birth control it could be break through bleeding.

I would have her contact her health care provider. There could be another issue like a cyst, endometriosis, or something small like needing to go on a different type of birth control.

A professional would be better at dealing with the issue.

It sounds like she should visit her healthcare provider if the irregular bleeding is concerning to her. Because of the lack of information, it is really hard to answer your question. Can you post more details or have her repost with more of what she is experiencing other than bleeding that is a diff color?

Period irregularity is most of the time completely normal. It can be caused by stress or athletic activity. I suggest if she is really worried about it not being her period she should go to the doctor and asap. If its not her period she could have a serious problem.

If it is an irregular cycle that may just be her period. Blood can be anywhere from bright red to brown. Has she missed any periods? If she had it may be a miscarriage and she may not have even known she was pregnant. If she is not in any pain I would not worry too much. Just have her keep track of what is happening so that if she needs to go to the doctor she can tell them exactly what is going on.

Is she sure the blood is coming from her vagina? I once had rectal hemorrhaging due to internal hemorrhoids. If there is a lot of bleeding, she needs to go to the emergency room. If it doesn't stop, she needs to see her doctor.
