Any good tips 4 gaining weight quite quickly ... im 18 & female and its really n!


Question: Hey was just wondering if any1 can giv me some advice as i said above im an 18 year old female and very underweight for my height. I have been to the doctor and she sent me for tests there is nothing medically wrong with me ...which i already knew because i hav been like this my whole life. Because there is nothing really wrong my doc is notconcerned but she doesnt understand its so upsetting and ruins my confidence (i dont go swimming wear skirts go 2 parties etc) So anyway i would like to try & gain weight by June as i have booked a holiday i would just like to gain some weight so i can fill a bikini and wear a skirt. I eat like a normal person breakfast lunch dinner and snacks & dont deprive myself of anything i eat more than most my friends but stay slimmer is there ANYTHING i can do its ruining my life plzzz dnt say eat lots of McDonalds it doesnt work!

I have the same problem as you. I eat like a pig and i never gain any weight. The only reason i weigh anything is because i dance. If i stop dancing i loose weight cuz i loose my mussel. My friends have accused me of being anorexic or having some sort of eating disorder. It's just that im really active and have a fast metabolism. I am 18 as well and i have finally just realized that this is me. I can't change my really skinny looking body. I no that im healthy and im happy and i have a nice life. Just think we never have to worry about what we put in our mouths. I think its awesome! I think that you shouldn't gain weight at all! Just live your life to the fullest! It's not about what you look like its the person you are. You will need to come and realize that because living your whole teenage years worried about your weight is a waste. I have finally come to realize this cuz i have the same problem. When your 40 and you start gaining weight you'll wish you were skinny again. So forget about gaining weight and have fun as who are! Hope i helped in any way.

Go to your nearest pharmacy and ask for the powder drink....sorry can't remember the name just ask the pharmasist he/she should know...anyway it really bulks you up FAST!!!

eat dry nuts, cheese every day. more important thing is eat your food on time and sleep on time. drink plenty of water!!

Well, you could follow me around and eat what I eat since I seem to gain weight very easily. You just need to take in more calories than you expend and you will gain weight.

Maybe you could increase your protein intake which is responsible for building muscle. If you are fairly active and you eat more protien you should put on weight. There are some good protein bars out there that you could eat as snacks or for a meal if you are in a hurry.

I hope your doc checked you for Celiac Disease too. I had it my whole life & didn't find out 'til I was 45. My docs told me I was fine too. I ate like you too. Ask your doc. Believe me, it's worth it. Good Luck.

It may just be your metabloism and that is just how you are genetically designed to be. But if you want to gain weight, I suggest building muscle. It will be better for you in the long run because you will not be putting on bad fat. Another option is to pick up some books on weight training or join a gym. Or see if your doctor can suggest a healthy way to gain weight or see a dietician.

well.. the most easy way to do that is to eat lots of protein.. you will gain weight not fat... also take in foods with lots of calories...some pastry's have 700 calories!!

Oddly enough the best way to gain weight is too stop eating. When you do this your body builds up fat because it doesn't know when your next meal is going to be. So stop eating (never been told that huh) :P I'm not saying quit eating entirely, just develope an irregular schedual. Eat very little one day and alot the next. Another thing, don't exercise. If you stop being active and eat less than your energy has nowhere to burn.

Some people are naturally thin no matter what they eat. My advice to you is accept yourself as you are, stuffing yourself with unhealthy foods is bad for your skin, hair & health. There is nothing more attractive than confidence & once you chill out & accept your own body you'll start to relax more & may even gain a little weight (not that you need to)

When my son gets underweight we give him a powdered protein supplement which we add to a milkshake.

Wish I had a problem like that. I'm not overweight though. So, eat pizza and food with calories. Try eating lots of bread with ur dinner or lunch. The most important is EAT AT NIGHT! Before u go to bed! EAT AT NIGHT! It makes u fat.

i've had the same problem my whole life i'm33 and about to have my fifth kid. and still after i have the baby i'll be 6'0 145lbs all over again. the thing that helped me alittle was weight gainer 2200 from gnc .plus eat alot of pasta and high carb foods ,eat often 3 to 4 hours apart as much as you want .look at it this way we are blessed and not so blessed.but no one is prefect.plus work out to build body mass .legs ,butt chest etc.remember you have good fat and bad fat so sit on line and do a little research

I was underweight for years. The thing that helped me was drinking kefir. It's like a yogurt smoothie, but with more calories, and it comes in a variety of flavors. In the U.S., it's usually shelved near the milk.

Good luck! A lot of people don't understand what a drag it can be to be skinny.

This is going to sound terrible, but did your doctor check you for parasites? Like a tapeworm? As many as 1/4 of humans have some form of parasetic insect and this sounds to be in line with the symptoms.

For fast wieght gain, you could try eating the fattier foods, like nuts and grains. Avoid the fast food-- you may gain weight, but it's going to be harmful to your health because of the QUALITY of what you're eating.

Also, try visiting a health-foods store, a weight loss store, or a fitness store. There are certain kinds of protien bars that may help you gain weight (these are mostly used by weight lifters, but the bars alone aren't going to make you beefy). Even a large consumer warehouse would probably carry this type of bar.
