The different colors are just to help you recognize where you are, if you've skipped one. There's no difference except for coloring. The reminder pills are literally sugar pills. They do nothing. You can not take them, just make sure you give yourself a whole seven days to bleed, and remember to start again. As for getting it a few days later, when you get to the end of your pack, just start the next one right away (instead of using the sugar pills). Do that for 3-4 days, and that should help. If you get your period anyway, try taking 2 pills one day, that will usually put a temporary stop on your period. Don't do that if you don't have to though.

If you skip the reminder pills then you should skip your period until the following month, but that doesn't always happens sometimes you'll have it anyway.

If you want to skip your period, using a monophasic Pill brand is best. Because all monophasic active pills have the same amount of hormones. This means steady hormone levels and less likelihood of nuisance side effects like breakthrough bleeding/spotting (BTB).
BTB is not dangerous to your health (for most women) but it's a significant inconvenience (not to mention a major reason women discontinue Pill use).
Because triphasic pill brands have varying hormone levels which fluctuate--usually, from week to week--you're more likely to experience BTB if you use a triphasic brand to skip your period.

In summary, if you havent dont this before, chances are, if you just skip the placebo pill you will probably bleed anyway, but go ahead and try it. There is not much you can do to change it within one month. It takes a few months to shift your period back your body is going to react weird the first time you skip a period on the pill, so there isnt much you can do except cut this months period short and start your pills early or try skipping placebo pills and hope you dont get break through bleeding.
