Do you think it's ok (not harmful) if I take 2 Immodium every two days?!

Question: I need it for my intestines.

Answers: I need it for my intestines.

I couldn't help but like this question because I used to take two Immodium AD Advanced caplets every day. Now I only take one. It's to control symptoms of ulcerative colitis. Anyway, if you are having problems where you need it every day, hopefully you have already seen a doctor and gotten a diagnosis. I'd run the idea by your doctor next time you see him or her. As far as dangers, the only question my doctor had was, "Doesn't that hurt??" I guess he was referring to when the stool backs up some due to the medication and then the pain that could come during a bowel movement. But it never hurts me too bad, and the benefits of control outweigh the risks or pain in my case, which is the base question when it comes to the use of any drug: Does the benefits outweigh the risks/side effects? The least effective dose should always be used also, which is why I am now only taking one per day. I might experiment with taking only one half per day but I am not secure with that idea yet.

It doesnt seem safe. Your supposed to poo once a day i think but you could call a help nurse and ask their opinion.

you should ask your doctor, i wouldn't rely on what your told by people over the net

more importantly you should ask him what it is thats making you need to take immodium every other day, it must be something in your diet,

remember treat the cause not the symptoms

no. It is harmful. you need to eat properly.

That means figure out your food allergy.

Dairy,wheat, Corn syrup...???

Preventive Medicine > Popular Medicine

Any thing in excess is not good.

Keep everything in moderation even moderation.

I read that long-term use of Imodium is okay, but it should be done while under the care of a doctor. You may want to see a gastroenterologist to find out why you're having intestinal trouble.
