Question: I think the nuvaring, which i've been on for three months, is causing me thick white discharge, I'm almost positive it's not an infection. Is this possible side effect of the ring? If I take it out right now instead of waiting two more weeks cause i'm sick of it, will that mess my cycle up? Should i just wait until i would normally take it out? Thanks!

YES! A side effect of the Nuvaring is excessive discharge! I'm pretty sure you can take it out whenever you want, but if I were you, I would leave it in for at least another week. The good thing about the stinkin ring is that you can use it to control your periods in a way. If you have a vacation coming up, it is fine to take out the ring a week early, and then put the next one in after a week, causing the period to come a week early, stopping it from ruining a vacation. With that being the case, I don't see why you can't just stop whenever you want. If you want to be completly sure, call a gynecologist office. They should be able to give you a definite answer.
How about taking it out and rinsing the gunk off and putting it right back? I know it looks like it came out, but there is probably some surrounding the ring right now. Just wash your hands before and keep it as clean as possible.
