Weird spotting instead of period?!

Question: This is kinda embarassing but i am worried and my nurse isnt much help. Ok thursday i noticed some brown spotting thick and stringy like. Well Friday i noticed the same thing but it was because i wiped on the inside a little bit to see if anything was there. Well since then i have done that every time i go to the bathroom to keep a record of this weird stuff. I have noticed it 5 times since then. My period was due sunday. This stuff is on the inside and not like leaving my body by itself. It just so stringy and blood streaked. Like a pinkish color and brown at times. This is just so embarssing and got me worried that something is wrong with my body. Since this stuff isnt the normal for me. I wouldnt think infection. Me and husband and only with each other. Any advice?

You could really be pregnant. My sister had the same problem while she stayed with me. She had her monthly due, and during the whole week before it was due, she had streaking, like brownish blood, but nothing more than that. Then all of a sudden, it stopped on the day of her period, and nothing else happend. So, we decided to take a test, and sure enough she was pregnant. Her doctor told her that it was normal, and her body was just shedding extra uterine lining, which most women may have. Especially if you have had children before. Maybe this helped. Good luck on everything, Jessica.

You need to take a pregnancy test. I had this when I was pregnant and doctors said it was normal to have brown spotting when pregnant. I ended up miscarrying but I have other problems. Take a pregnancy test and call your doctor. I hope this helps you.

It happens, some periods are inconsistence. You could have suffered a chemical pregnancy which is very common, and instead of having a regular period you are shedding the pregnancy. It's not quite the same as a miscarriage, but it is similar. They are quite common, people have them all the time and don't notice.
