Exercise and low-sodium diet will help lower the BP. Check your diet because a lot of young people eat high sodium foods. Fast food is extremely high, as well as anything processed or packaged/canned. Soy Sauce is extremely high in sodium. My doc told that 2000 mg/day for sodium was a good amount. No more than that.

best thing to do is call and ask your gyno. she should know the correct answer.

What does your doctor say?? See a doctor

the best advice i could give you is to talk about your health with your doctor not those of us on yahoo answers.....

I do not think it is the BC, but you should consult a doctor!

TRY exercise...it relieves a lot of stress...I personally run three mil about 3-4 times a week to releive stress...

i would ask a docter or a professonal that question just to be safe.

Can you just use condoms with spermicide for now? Those won't affect your bp. I would talk to your gyn asap- did you check your bp at the doctor, or at a drug store? (Doctor should have asked about meds, etc and discussed it with you.) Either way, call and they can have you come in or advise you on how to proceed. Just know, you ARE at risk by continuing to take them!

Another baby sure won't help with the BP! LOL

Maybe you should start bp meds? See what your doctor suggests.

That is probably the reason for it to raise like that. I would just keep an eye on it and see. If it doesn't go down, I would consult with the doctor that prescribed the bc pills.

Okay, please call your doctor's office and ask to speak with his/her nurse; then tell the nurse exactly what you said about the blood pressure, the stress/anxiety and your question about the birth control pills. The nurse will consult your doctor and let you know, or ask him/her to call you. The rest of us will only be guessing at the right answer to tell you, but you should be confident in your doctor's reply, and by the way, this type of question is usually free.

It would be good to check your blood pressure daily for awhile, and keep a record of the results, so that the next time you see or speak with your physician, you can relay this info.

Best wishes,
cryllie, who is wondering if being married explains the stress...
hugs and a grin, cryllie, who is also married, by the way
