How to tell my therapist and family that i compulsivly overeat?!
Question: I am 19 years old and I am in college. This all started some time ago though. I dont really know how it all started but i know that i went to somepretty extreme meausures to feel like i could look good and be skinny. I didnt realize i had a serious problem until about 5 months ago. I need help soon. I have gained almost 60 pounds since september...i dont know what to do...can my therapist and family help me if i get the guts to just tell them?

Compulsive overeating is an eating disorder as serious as anorexia and buhlemia. Just open up and tell them. The more people you have backing you up and understanding what you're going thru, the easier it will be for you to overcome this disease.

Well sure, they could help, by encouraging you. If what your saying is that you want to lose weight, you've got to do this yourself. No one can MAKE you change your eating habits, and exercise. It's all up to you, I recently lost seven pounds in one week by cutting out all fastfood, pop, and most meats. You can do it, good luck!
P.S. Just tell them, with no hesitation. It's best that they know sooner than later, they will support 100% I'm sure. ;]
