The PMS response of increased appetite with cravings for carbohydrates and chocolate may be caused by low serotonin levels. When serotonin levels are low, the brain signals the body to eat carbohydrates, which in turn stimulates the production of serotonin from its naturally occurring amino acid "building block."

That's why women may have appetites that seem out of control and willpower goes out the window during PMS, factors as strong as brain chemicals and hormone production may be powerful influences over behavior and physical cravings.

I dont feel any symptoms when I have a period so I dont know.

Yeah I never used to believe it happened I just thoght people made excuses to eat sh*t!! But I do experience it sometimes and It annoys me cos Im not really into crisps/chocolate any other time!!

i need chocolate all the time, in fact after i finished on the computer i'm going to tescos to get some chocolate Covered Raisens

You conned me. I was hoping for a stark naked bird getting out of a bath of warm chocolate, And then you put the bit in about periods. Have you no heart?

the carb thing is because a womans body needs more carbs and sugars while on our periods. the chocolate is a hormonal thing. chocolate triggers the same opiate receptors that orgasming does.

I have no idea but I'm the same way..........lol.......if u find out please share!
