No withdrawal bleed?!

Question: I have been on the pill for about 5 months since a tubal pregnancy. This would be the first month I had no withdrawal bleed at all....Is that normal after a certain amount of time?
Thanks!

Most of the time you have some withdrawal spotting but not always. Since you have been on continuous pill therapy, the lining of the endometrium is probably very atrophic (thin with little tissue).

For women using combined oral contraception the superficial endometrium is so thin that there is little or no bleeding during the withdrawal of hormones. This is not harmful and not more likely to be associated with an underlying condition (such as polycystic ovarian syndrome) then women who have withdrawal bleed.
General advice for women who have no withdrawal bleeding when using combined oral contraception can be given. If the woman is a good pill taker and a pregnancy test is negative she may continue with her current combined oral contraceptive. Alternatively she may consider another combined oral contraceptive but there is no evidence to guide clinicians on the next logical choice. Women may be advised to tricycle pill packets (taking pills for nine consecutive weeks before a pill free week) thus limiting her absence of withdrawal bleeding to every 3 months

Hope that Helps!!

Its does depend which pill you are on , there are many, but its not unusual. If you are worried pop into the pharmacy and buy a pregnancy test kit.
