From what I've read, it doesn't.

But BV (bacterial vaginosis) does need to be treated, so you may need to 'bite the bullet' and see a doctor or gynecologist. It might be scary now, but it'll make you feel better in the long run. You can go with someone you trust, like a parent, family member, or friend. Lots of women deal with stuff like this, and the gynecologist should be understanding - after all, it is their job. They communicate with you and tell you exactly what they're going to do, and in my experience they've always been fine. Your health is their primary concern, after all, and they know it can be scary, embarrassing, and generally crappy.

I was scared of going too, but it turned out to be fine. Make sure you get yourself taken care of, you'll feel a lot better after you do! Ignoring this can make it worse, so please seek treatment as quickly as you can.

It is impossible to diagnose over the internet. Suck it up and get some support and go to your gyno.

Your best bet is to goto a gynecologist. I believe it can prevent your period though...don't be scared to goto a gynecologist, they are there to help you and if I have something seriously wrong...it's best to find out if you do or not!!

no, i don't belive it should affect your period, but how do you know you have it if you don't go to the doc. there is nothing to be afraid of at the gyno...seriously...it's not a big deal at all, and you will feel so much better if they are able to tell you what's wrong, and what you can do to fix it. or better yet, if nothing is wrong you'll wonder why you didn't go months ago!

Amenorrhea is the absense of menstrual periods. The term "primary amenorrhea" is used if periods have never started in females aged 16 or older. It is a rare gynecological disorder. Regular menstruation usually begins (menarche) within two years of the onset of puberty. Absence of menses by age 16-18 constitutes Primary Amenorrhea.

Bacterial vaginosis is a mild infection of the vagina caused by bacteria. Normally, there are a lot of "good" bacteria and some "bad" bacteria in the vagina. The good types help control the growth of the bad types. In women with bacterial vaginosis, the balance is upset. There are not enough good bacteria and too many bad bacteria.

Bacterial vaginosis is usually a mild problem that goes away on its own in a few days. But it can lead to more serious problems, so it
