LADIES...... Is it stupid that I only wear pads not tampons?!
Question: I truly just don't feel comfortable wearing tampons! I am terrified of TSS and them getting stuck! I know the getting stuck part is embarrising (sp) but, I was just wondering what everyone thought!

i did get TSS when i was 17 and it was zero fun so i can completely understand.... I was told by my doctor that some people are just naturally more prone to it than others. I did not use them for many years and even now only for the first day or two then over to pads when it slows down ....It is a personal choice and you should never allow yourself to feel like you are outside the lines when making a personal choice as you are the one who has to live with it....Oh and Happy almost Birthday!!!

I don't wear tampons. I just don't like them. I cant get used to them it's like having a cork stuck in your vagina. I would rather wear a pad even if it feels like a diaper sometimes.
Nope, you're not alone. I've been wearing pads for over 10 years! I only wear pads because it just seems much easier; change when needed. If you feel like you'll have a bulk, maybe you can get a thinner, shorter pad and just change more often. Bottom line: wear what makes you comfortable.
I was deadley scared to use them too but it takes a while !!!YOu have that choice!!!
i think that it is totally your choice. i personally preffer pads too. i get scared of internal bleeding when i use tampons.

Its definitely not stupid. Its a personal choice for everyone. I prefer tampons, have used them forever and have never had any problems whatsoever. I remember when I was very young though and how awkward it was to use them, put them in etc, maybe when you are older your preferences will change. But if pads are your choice for now I say stick with that.

I personally don't wear anything but tampons because I can't stand the way that pads feel - but there was a time before tampons when women had no choice, so you should do what you are most comfortable with!
It's actually much healthier for your body if you don't use tampons because they are known to cause a lot of vaginal infections and toxic shock syndrome. And as you mentioned, they can be very uncomfortable to insert. I always felt better off wearing pads.
that is okay. you just arent comfortable with tampons. just remember that tampons allmost never get stuck.

nope its not stupid at all. i use both at the same time but my flow is super heavy
Ive never herd of them getting stuck though and i ha vent had any problem removing them. it did take me a while to get them inserted properly.
as far as pads go i love the always ultra thin with the wipes they make me feel so much cleaner with the whole pad problem so give the always ultra thin with wipes a try you can hardly notice your wearing a pad

yea well i THOUGHT i had that choice......cuz im about to turn 15 too.....but....i HAVE to wear tampons since im on a swim team....and by me missing a week just cuz of my period will affect me too much and i wont be gettin any faster if im taking a week off every month....
but yea...theres nothin wrong wit wearing pads....i know gurls who have never worn tampons in there life!!!
Not stupid at all. I don't really think that it's natural to stick stuff in you like that. Pads are more natural as they're just "catching" what you're leaking. People used to use rags. They didn't shove stuff up themselves. However, it all comes down to personal choice. Also, I don't trust tampons. Whenever I've worn one I've always felt the need to wear extra protection cos I was afraid they'd leak.

I wear pads most of the time, too. You aren't stupid for wearing protection that works the best for you. If pads keep you feeling clean and dry, then wear them, and don't feel embarrassed because other people might prefer different types of protection.
