There are things you can do to help lighen your period, but for the most part this is a normal part of nature so cannot be changed that much - if you feel uncomfortable with it then that is something you need to deal with, why do you feel uncomfortable?

The things you can do to make your periods lighter are limited, I speak from experience as I have menorrhagia which is excessivly heavy periods, I loose around 12 times more blood than the average person. This would be using herbs such as shepards purse and yarrow, but this isn't a long-term solution. General health is important too, so good diet, also avoid tampons like the plauge as these have a negative affect on your vaginal health which also means a heavier period - instead use pads or menstrual cups.

Regulating will also help your menstrual flow and any other menstrual problems you may have, the easiest way is by taking daily capsules of either evening primrose oil or black cohosh which will regulate your hormones - these can be found at health stores or most supermarkets. A good women's blend herbal tea may help too, something including vitex.

evening primrose oil tablets help regulate your period. get them from holland and barrett.

menstrual flow varies with each girl. yes, the pill can regulate your period and even decrease the amount of flow and even make your cramps lessen. there is no other way to decrease your flow.

No. You can't make it lighter unless you go on the pill. It will lighten it and make it regular. Try using pads that come with the wipes or use tampons. You can even go on the pill without losing your virginity. A lot of people go on the pill for the reason of having heavy periods.
