iron loss is common, especially during heavy, dark clot filled blood loss

sounds like your iron/ferratin levels may be getting low

get the blood test
and go back to see your doctor and ask about the numbers,
dont simply phone for your results then leave it
mine was fine/normal when i phoned for them

i saw the doc turns out it was only ONE number away from anemic,
i was a 10 anemic was 9
and i was still told i was fine
and i had all the symptoms
and still suffering them months later

(had i not went to the doctor after phoning the results, id be in really bad shape now but still be told i was fine
, like i was for years before i figured all this stuff out on my own and through experience)

so depending on the numbers/levels in the results you can figure out if its that

and if you have quite bad heavy blood loss every period and bad cramp pain, like really bad
endometriosis is a possibility
(where partsof the endometrium wall comes off and attaches to your ovary or other organs and this can cause the heavy bleeding and pain)

i have both,
and i feell realy ill during my periods, i feel sick, drained, get really depressed and tired cant do anything but stay in bed with a hot water bottle and lots of pain killers, and of course agonising cramps for the first while

I have noticed as I get older having my period affects me differently as it did when I was younger. I tend to get sick around my period and have cramping and irritation for a week and half before. I am also completely sapped of energy and exhausted even if I'm getting enough sleep.

I thought maybe I had an iron deficiency since losing blood during your period you also lose some iron. But I'm not sure. Try taking vitamins, getting enough sleep and exercising. If it doesn't help talk to a doctor. It could be just a hormonal thing.

You probably are anemic. Go see your doctor because a simple blood test will let you know if you are. You have the typical symptoms, sleepiness and lack of energy. When you have your period, do you bleed heavy? Are the periods irregular? And do you get severe cramping? If so, might also have endometriosis, a common disease women get. If not, well then, just see the doctor for the possible anemia, you'll feel much better once it is treated. Or try eating foods high in iron.
