PMS or PMT?!

Question: PMS or PMT!?
It's driving me CRAZY! I suffer with it a good week before hand and it's NUTS!. I am not taking the pill because it made me very sick!. Is there any "natural" way of dealing with this problem!? I am taking Evening Primrose Oil daily!. I exercise for an hour most days!. I eat OK (it could be better) and i'm not overweight!. I take a multivitamin daily and I'm just at my witts end!. My doctor put me on Prozac 20mg daily to fight the depression!. Any ideas and tips please!!! Also, when I've got severe PMS/PMT my period is usually late like now it's 2 days late!. I'm also very hungry, moody and just not me at all!. Is anyone else like this!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I suffered terribly and know where you are going they kept thinking it was depression but it turned out it was all hormones related!. Go see your doc ask for your hormone levels to be checked or to go on hormone tablets to help with the mood swings you only take them for two weeks out of every month from when your pmt starts to the end of your period!. It changed my life completly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No I don't suffer from it as I'm a male, but I do suffer with it when my g/f gets it!. Moody!? You better believe it!.
Her "natural" way of dealing with it involves getting sweaty if you know what I mean, yoga, and knowing there's someone there to help her through it!. Seems to work well for her though!.

Edit
Avoid the Prozac if you can - damned stuff can be addictive!. You'll solve one problem and end with anotherWww@Answer-Health@Com

Aw, I really smpathise with you!. Whilst most of us suffer from PMS / PMT, you do seem to have a severe case!. You've already ruled out the pill which is a shame as that can really help your moods with the level of hormones in them and you seem to be doing the right things in terms of vitamins and exercise!. Is PMS / PMT the only reason why you were put on prozac or is there an underlying problem causing depression!? I only ask because based on my own experience, I think doctors are too quick to precribe prozac instead of dealing with the actual issue!. The fact that you're on prozac could definitely be what's making you constantly hungry!. Try asking in a health food shop for any remedies, they have everything in there to combat most things!. I am sorry I can't be much more help, but I think you're already doing what I'd suggest, the only thing really is to come off the antidepressant SLOWLY, don't just stop it immediately as that will make you worse and try the health food shop, good luck and hope you feel better soon xWww@Answer-Health@Com

If you're into natural therapies, Evening Primrose Oil can be amazingly effective for many women!.

I'm surprised you gave up on the pill though - there are so many different dosages available these days and I know it's a real pain spending 3 months trial and error with each one trying to find one which works for you without side effects!. It is worth persevering though, especially given how badly you suffer from PMS!. The right contraceptive would probably make all (or most) of your PMS troubles go away!.

If your doctor is not sympathetic to working with you to find the best answer for you, then do yourself a huge favour and find yourself another doctor who will!.

I remember taking 7 different types of oral contraceptive before finding the one that worked perfectly for me!. My 21-year old daughter tried 5 (took 18 months - 3 months each pill) before she found the right one for her!.

Trust me and have another try - once you find the one for you, you'll never look back!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
