Answers:
All of the pills in the pack have estrogen in some amount!. All of the pills, except the last week, have a combination of the hormones progesterone and estrogen!. It is the relative ratio of these hormones that influences the development of the endometrial lining and its shedding (your period)!. The last week of pills has only estrogen, but at a lower dose!. Your body makes both of these hormones naturally, but in different amount depending on where you are in your cycle or whether you are pregnant!. The primary way that the Pill works is that it tricks the body into not ovulating (releasing an egg) by in essence thinking its already pregnant ( on a hormonal level)!.

Most pills like Seasonique have a last week that is a placebo (non-hormone pill)!. The drop off of estrogen is what causes you to have your period!. With this combo it appears they have left a little estrogen in so that your period is less heavy than it would be normally and some women just do better when there is a tiny bit of estrogen still hanging around than having complete withdrawal with the placebo!. Its totally, safe compared to other pills so theres nothing to worry about!. There are the same risks with blood clots though this is usually primarily for smokers over the age of 35!. The fact that the last week has some estrogen in it and not just placebo though means you really need to take it unlike other pills where some people, including myself, just trash the pack instead of taking the placebo pills!. Its a good idea though since it maintains consistency of hormonal milieu and keeps you on schedule!.

One bonus they don't tell you is that in addition to preventing pregnancy, there is some research that suggests that taking the Pill actually has some protective effect against endometrial and ovarian cancers, two serious but hard to detect cancers!. So this is a plus!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Estrogen is the female hormone which makes you a woman!. Most normal birth control pills have very little hormones in them!. But the last ones has it in it for a reason!. Since you already produce your own estrogen the only effect you would get from it would be the things you normally get from taking a birth control pill!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Taking any bc is taking hormones, and each person reacts differently to them!. Some women get very sick, have aches and pains, have breakouts or clearer skin, and some people are lucky and don't have any side effects!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

estrogen is a hormone!.
It has both positive and negative effects!.
