Question: Menstrual cycle question, caution, graphic!?
in on day three of my menstrual cycle, im normally a pretty heavy bleeder, ive always had problems with bleeding a lot or bleeding more than normal, like when i had my daughter and when i had back surgery, anyway, i changed my tampon and there was a blood clot that covered one whole side of the tampon, this is a pearl tampon, i'm wondering if clots this big are normal or if i should contact my gyn, any advice would be very helpful!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Generally, anything smaller than a quarter is fine!. Call the doctor if it was bigger than that, or is accompanied by severe cramping, fever, or an unusual odor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Its really different for everyone!. For my sisters & I, blood clots are pretty much a normal part of our periods, and if you bleed heavily, then its not surprising that you have them, but if they're bothersome or you're just too freaked out by them, go see your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
For me, clots were "normal" and then I found out that I had a large fibroid!. So, you may want to get checked!. I've had the fibroid removed and this is my 3rd period since then and the clotting has definitely lessened!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I know that lots of heavy bleeders do have clots some of them large!. If you have bleeding so bad that you cannot do anything or you are in a lot of pain you could have endometriosis!. Depending on how you feel go see your gyn to find out!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
