Question: This is a birth control question-Anyone taking Depo-Provera & if so did you gain weight!?!?
or have any other side effects!? Also if you can suggest a birth control method that does not have weight gain as a side effect that would be wonderful!.

I did gain a little weight because it stimulates your appetite!. If you work out then you really shouldn't have any issues!. One issue I did have is that I went from a 36C to a 36DD, and they didn't go away after I stopped taking depo!. I had extreme breast sensitivity ( somewhat painful like someone who breast feeds)!. The Nuvaring and patch work well!. There is also a monthly shot!. I would look at the planned parenthood website!. It goes into great detail about all the birth control methods available on the market today!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I'm taking depo provera now, have been on it for about a month, and haven't noticed any weight gain!.
My parents came back after a week away and actually told me I looked thinner!.
Personally, I don't know if I'm putting on weight or not!. I just try to watch what I eat more, but I tend to have a more increased appetite, I just don't eat when I wouldn't normally!. I usually get over the huger feeling!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I took Depo for 2 years and gained about 35 lbs!. I haven't taken it for 3 years and the weight is still there!. If you like the convenience of not having a period and have at least one child you might ask your doctor about Mirena!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I took that and it made me gain all kinds of weight and on top of that my hair was falling out as a side effect!. I take Yaz now and I have lost weight on it!. At first it kind of made me sick to my stomach but went awayWww@Answer-Health@Com
yes about 25 pounds the weight gain was like fluid and made me feel puffy after a couple of months it started dropping offWww@Answer-Health@Com
