Do you use the MoonCup?!

Question: Do you use the MoonCup!?
I just got one!. It is very comfortable except for the stem!.The directions say not to cut the whole thing off but I did and it's much more comfortable now!. Besides the initial scratching from the stem, wearing it has been convenient!. I can barely tell it's there!. I feel good that I'm not generating waste for the landfills and it will definitely save money over time!. What do you think of the MoonCup!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I use the Mooncup but it is the UK Mooncup not the US Mooncup ( http://www!.mooncup!.com ) owned by Keeper (http://www!.thekeeper!.com ) so it is slightly different - better customer service and company ethics too!. There were various issues with Keeper trying to screw over other menstrual cup companies such as Divacup ( http://www!.divacup!.com ) and Mooncup ( http://www!.mooncup!.co!.uk )!.!.!.Lunette ( http://www!.lunette!.fi ), Ladycup ( http://www!.ladycup!.eu ) and Instead softcups ( http://www!.softcup!.com ) have probably come under fire from them too!. Keeper created a big stink a few years back when they refused to tell people if their rubber cup was okay for vegans to use, even claiming it was when it turned out it wasn't!. Thus, I don't like the US Mooncup!.!.!.the UK Mooncup is another matter though :o)

I found the stem on mine to be a pain, only I can't cut mine off and I'm one of the reasons they now advise that you don't remove the stem - some women, such as myself, will cut the stem off to find that the cup tilts to the side!. Lucky for me I got my Mooncup replaced after it's three month guarantee period, the cup companies started posting a warning on the stem cutting after a few other women had similar problems!. I cut mine half way, it can be a little uncomfortable at first but as the cup migrates up it isn't a problem for long!.

I've been using my mooncup for around 5 years now, I couldn't live without it as I have hypermenorrhagia - super heavy long lasting periods - I'd simply not be able to use tampons or pads as they aren't enough for my flow!. It's also great as I used to have constant infections from using tampons and pads as a kid, of course I also used commercial tampons and pads which made me even more prone to infections, with my menstrual cup I haven't had any infections!. You get to avoid the sweaty feeling of pads, the bacterial growth, increased cramping, vaginal splitting of tampons, and avoid chemicals and synthetics found in commercial products (remember commercial products are linked to TSS, endometriosis, cancer, vaginal infections, infertility, etc!.) so FAR better for your health and the environment!. See tampon health web site - http://www!.spotsite!.org

THEY AREN'T MESSY AT ALL!
I don't know where people get that idea, particularly people who have used the cup, they are far less messy than tampons and pads, they don't leak, and all the blood stays inside the cup so it is just a case of emptying and reinserting - I normally empty mine in the shower so I can clean at the same time!. You don't have to worry about public bathrooms because they only need to be emptied every 12 hours!.!.!.if, and that's a big IF, you need to empty in a public bathroom you can just empty and reinsert, you don't have to clean, but if you want to then you just wipe with toilet paper, wash in the sink, or take a bottle of water in the stall with you - easy! Much less fuss than constantly changing tampons and pads, having to carry spares, having to find bins for used tampons and pads, having to switch tampons for pads at night, having to switch absorbancies to match your flow, being caught at the start of your period without any pads, etc!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hmm!.!.!.I tried something called the Divacup!. I didn't like it because of the suction feeling when it came out!. Also messy and hard to deal with (you have to wash it with hot water and soap) in public bathrooms!.

I would certainly use something like this if it weren't for the suction aspect!. I'm very much in favor of generating less waste, but the Diva/Moon cup really isn't for me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

tell me what it is and where to get it so i can try itWww@Answer-Health@Com
