Answers:
Heavy periods stink, but so does messing with your hormones at such a young age!. It's a dangerous gamble to mess around with your hormones while they are still establishing in your body!. If you can avoid the pill, it's probably a better idea!.

I went on the pill young, but had had my period for many years (I was 16 when I went on it, had been having a period since I was 11) and it really messed with my body!. I had to have surgery to repair damage done to my ovaries by the pill!. At 13 your body is still adjusting!. Give it some time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should prolly go to a gyno!.!.!. If you're embarrassed just remember that they've seen a million vaginas before and your case probably isn't anything new!.
If you go to a normal doctor, she or he will probably recommend that you go to a gynecologist anyway!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have to have an exam to take the pill!. You could just go to your "regular" doctor but keep in mind that if necessary they are also capable of preforming pelvic exams, and will if you want birth control!. So you are not going to "win" that way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes you have to go to the gyno to get the pill, you need to have an exam!. (some regular doctors are qualified to do the exam and give the prescription)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, your family doctor can help you with this!. He may even put you on a (low hormone) birth control pill to regulate your periods!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
