Answers:
FIRST OFF, THE GIRL WHO SAID "THE SHORTEST DOCTOR SHE CAN THINK OF (um, that makes no sense, but i assume she meant one with the shortest training) IS AN ANESTHESIOLOGIST IS COMPLETELY WRONG!. also, she says stanford med school has a great program for anesthesia, but, med schools dont HAVE programs in specific fields of medicine; you learn the basics, then you apply for a residency in order to learn about specifics, so her answer is completely invalid in every way (theres no way she got that answer from an actual med student or doctor)!.anesthesiologists are specialists; they train for years in their specialty and their job is NOT easy!. they have to be whizzes at math and chemistry, and know how to apply them, and those who work in hospitals are often on-call a few nights a week (ALL night), just like the rest of us!. also, its one of the hardest residencies to get, so it doesnt sound like youre a candidate anyway, based on your naivety!. so the answer is simple: no!. you cant become a doctor without at least 8 years of post-high school education!. ALL medical doctors go through the same scholastic training (and who in their right mind at a medical school would allow someone to become a doctor when they havent learned what they need to know to practice!?! duh!.), and they go onto clinical training in their chosen speciality (keep in mind also, that to get into a med school at all, you have to be an academic star with an almost perfect gpa, excellent mcat scores and a certain curriculum completed at a highly ranked university, PLUS experience in the med field and medical research that you have personally conducted)!. during these 5 long years, you will be making very little money, and it will take several more years to make more than an average salary!. becoming a doctor is not about money- most physicians these days make way less than most people think and have to pay huge sums of money every month to cover malpractice insurance anyway!. if you are only interested in being a doctor for a high pay, you are not cut out for the medical field, and you wouldnt make it through the training!. you must commit your life to medicine- are 100 work weeks on less than what a bricklayer makes for 4 years after you graduate something you are willing to do!? im guessing not, since you already are looking for shortcuts!. and why would you want less schooling anyway!?! doctors worry enough about making a mistake and hurting a patient- if there WERE a way you could become a doctor with less schooling, youd be endangering people everyday!. would you want a doctor who went into the field for the money!?! hell no, and neither does anyone else!. grow up- medicine is NOT for the selfish (and also work on your grammar!.!.!.if you want a high-paying job, you need to be intelligent, bottom-line) !!
p!.s!. if you were to get a med school interview, they would be able to see right through your motives- they keep students who are in it for superficial reasons (and also lazy students who dont want to do all the work) OUT of med school about 99% of the time!. might sound harsh, but i cannot stand when people try to use medicine as something they can do for their own personal gain- think about others!. you arent cut out to be a doctor, and yes, i can tell by the one-sentence question you asked!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The shortest doctor I can think of or know of that makes great money is an Anesthesia doctor!.

They need 8 yrs of education (which in my opinion is a lot shorter than most other doctors)!.

They also make quite a bit of money, but the job is pretty risky (you have to be very careful when helping out patients)!.

Stanford University has a great program for anesthesia too! (If you got the grades and potential to work hard to get in), but other colleges/universities have great programs as well!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
