Usually, the blood stains the normal discharge (the clear/whitey slimey stuff that's your body's self-cleaning mechanism and comes out all month) which can explain the lumpy bits!.
Like some of the others have said, it's not the same as normal blood, like if you get a cut, it's the lining of the womb coming away at the end of each month when your body realizes it's not pregnant!. When a woman becomes pregnant, the egg attaches itself to the lining of the womb and the lining thickens to protect the pregnancy!.
Really don't worry, it's all ok!. If you feel comfortable, try talking to your mum/big sister/aunt/friend's mum about it all!. It happens to all women, and it can be very reassuring to hear that another person has experienced the same things you are going through now!.

P!.S!. Also, don't worry if the blood looks brownish/rusty in a few days, sometimes towards the end of your period, the blood is a bit 'old' (came away from the womb a while before it shows) Again, all normal, and not the worry about it!.

Good luck honey!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like it's clots!. Sometimes a small amount of blood doesn't go out and it stays where it is!. So it kind of dries up in a way, and the next time a few drops of blood go out, it goes out too!. It's pretty normal of what I know, but if they are really big, I'm not sure what to tell you!.

Best of luck!

First of all congratulations for you have reached puberty!. Yes it is completely normal and you shouldn't be worried about it!. Amount of blood during menstruation may vary from time to time!. Just as long as you don't bleed for over a week and don't soak a napkin in just a matter of minutes then you're very safe!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

That is very very normal!. This is what is happening (may sound sick) The inside of your uterus builds up a wall (thin lining) when the eggs comes down on it, it sits there and since there are no sperm it's literally taking off all the skin there!. The only reason the lining is there is to protect the bay if there is one!. This is why you see those "clots"!. It can be scary at first but it's okay, and very normal!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
