Wearing a pad in the water will be very uncomfortable but you can try, it will just feel a bit heavy!. Otherwise you can take off the pad just before you go in the water and then put one on just after you get out, it could work because your period stops when you are in the water!. I understand that since you are 12 you do not want every one to know that you have your period and you are a bit young to start wearing tampons but if you do make sure to start with the smallest size and read the instructions properly and don't leave it in too ling because it may become infected!. Good luck, I had the same problem when I was your age as I got thrown into the pool with a pad when I didn't want to go swimming, it felt a bit uncomfortable but I survived!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well pads are a waste of time and a waste of pads themselves in the water!. They will just absorb the water and will give you no protection, whether or not you are wearing board shorts!. Since you really want to go swimming, I would suggest trying out a tampon!. You don't have to use it for all of your other upcoming periods, but just for this one time!. If you like them, go ahead and use them! But I would suggest using a tampon when your swimming and have your period at any time, it's just better for you and the pool!. You can take it out before you leave, or whenever!. As long as its out before 8 hours have gone by!.

Have fun and best of luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Wearing a pad wouldnt work, it would absorb all the water leaving no protection for your period!.
If you're taking a boy the last thing you want is to leak in the pool, imagine how embarrassed you'd be!.!.
The only way around swimming with periods is to wear a tampon, you wont leak or anything!.
They're really not as bad as they seem, they are a little uncomfortable at first but you get used to them!.
Talk to your mum she will be able to give you more detailed advice if you are gonna use one or you can email me if you want and i'll give you more info :)

ok if youre filling a liner in 15 minutes you bleed a lot, its actually nisanely heavy!. you should maybe go to the doc and tell them to get on birth control so ur period will be lighter!. and dont use a pad becuz the water will go in it and itll blow up like a balloon!. if u havent used a tampon yet, its time to start!. Tampons are your only option!. I know you are young and maybe scared to use them but using pads will only result in an embarrassing accident!. Otherwise don't get in the pool, just say that you want to spend time with your friend!. On the way there just tell him that you aren't feeling well and he'll probably want to spend more time with you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh please!. Really think about that!. A PAD, in water! Do you think it will only soak up your blood!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Pads will act like a diaper and soak up the water before it even gets to your blood!

It is either tampons or moon/diva cup or NO swimming!.

You will bleed into the water and contaminate it with your blood, no matter how light your period is!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sweetie!.!. buy some tampons!.!. it's ok!.!. It will be very uncomfortable for you to wear a pad, they SWELL up!.!. really big and it's bad!.!. I've been thrown into a pool when I had a pad on!.!. so, buy some tampons or borrow one from a friend!.!. it will be alot easier and you will feel better and prob not even notice it!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

do not wear pad in the water it will fell like diaper and wont catch the blood although your flow might stop in the water depending on how heavy or light it is i suggest you wear a tampon like tampax pearl or tampax regular and change the tampon right after you get out the poolWww@Answer-Health@Com

My friend uses pads when she goes swimming and you can't tell!. So those girls that are saying that it will be noticeable, it won't!. She wears them all the time when she goes swimming if she's on her period!. So I don't think there is any problem!. Good Luck And Have FunWww@Answer-Health@Com

Pads aren't made to go swimming in!. It will just absorb the water, and won't be able to absorb the blood very well!. I would suggest trying tampons!. Playtex Sport tampons are good for first-timers!. They're small (yet absorbant), and easy to put in!. Good luck =]Www@Answer-Health@Com

That's not a good idea!. The pad is going to soak up the water and it'll be noticeable!. So either wear a tampon or don't go in the water and just hang around the pool!. Www@Answer-Health@Com

well if u r planning to in the water then u have to use a tampon b/c the pad will just absorb all the water, i hope i helped, Www@Answer-Health@Com
