Question: How much do you have to weigh to have gastric bypass or a band if ur a teenager!?
I'm not super fat yet - 5'6 and 145 but i am gaining weight like CRAZY and nothing i do makes it stop!. i eat right, exercise and i just get heavier!

You are no where close!. For Gastric bypass you must be at least 100lbs overweight with a BMI of at least 40!. For the lapband, I believe you must be at least 80lbs overweight!.
You don't just walk in and ask for the surgery!. !. Not everyone who is overweight is an ideal candidate for the surgery!. You must see a surgeon, a nutritionist, sometimes a psychologist!. You must be able to show tht you have tried unsuccessfully to lose the weight for a long time (we're talking years) The diet is not the most fun in the world either!. Imgaine eating 1/2 to 1 cup of food per meal, 800 calories a day FOR LIFE!. Imagine losing 150lbs through surgery and gaining it all back because you can't control your eating!. It is not a cure-all!.
I had Gastric Bypass surgery in Oct 2007!. To date I have lost 120 pounds!. I am 40 pounds from my goal weight!. It hasn't always been fun and it certainly hasn't been easy!. I have not had any complications!. The death rate from the surgery is at an all time low!. I don't understand why people have to make it out liek the surgery is a deathtrap!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It sounds like you need to go to your doctor!. If you're inexplicably gaining weight, it could be a symptom of a pretty serious health problem that needs to be regulated and dealt with!. Www@Answer-Health@Com
