A hymen is a thin piece of skin with an opening in it that is across the vaginal opening!. Some women are born without them, some women have broken theirs from tampon use or exercise, and some women have ones that are unobtrusive enough that they stretch rather than break!.

As the others said, sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't!. Think of the hymen as a thin filter inside a girl!. The hymen can be broken sometimes by accidents or even tampon use!. So if she doesn't bleed it does not mean she isn't a virgin!. It simply means that her hymen isn't intact!.

And sometimes when a woman is rather experienced sexually she will bleed afterward!. This has happened to me once or twice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
