Answers:
Ask your doctor, she knows your condition and will weigh up the pros and cons of the drug for you!.
And to the second poster, it may be primarily for diabetes, but actually some drugs work for other medical conditions too!. I have taken anti depressant tablets, which works for pain too!. I have also taken a drug used to treat epilepsy, for pain!. So, some drugs have more then one use and can be used to treat many conditions!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why would you ask to go on Metformin!? Its Mainly for Diabetes!? It wont necessarily help PSOS Irregular periods or your underactive thyroid gland!.(Yes you can take Thyroxine and Metformin at the same time)
Metformin is not licensed for use in PCOS In the UK!.
(However the United Kingdom's National Institute for Health and Clinical Excellence recommends that women with PCOS and a body mass index above 25 be given metformin when other therapy has failed to produce results)Www@Answer-Health@Com
