Question: Ladies: Mirena users-- how did it work for you!?

Well I've never had kids, so having it inserted was extremely painful!. After that, I have mild to severe cramps for about two months!. However now - I consider it the best decision I've ever made!. I got pregnant & miscarried on the birth control pill so needless to say, I don't trust it anymore!.
I've had Mirena for almost a year now and I love it!. I never have to worry about anything!. My hardly ever get my period anymore which is great, and when I do it's very minimal!. I would highly recommend it!.
The only downside is that it is very expensive, but it's good for 5 years: so worth it!.

I had mine put in 5 years ago!. It wasn't painful to put in but I have 2 children!. I did have cramps right after it was placed and I bled for about 2 months!. I have not had a period since!. I had it removed due to a cyst on my left ovary!. They had to remove the cyst by surgery!. That is the only downside to the Mirena, it does cause cysts!. But most of the time they are small cysts that do not cause any trouble!. Mine just happenend to develop into something major!. I would reccommend Mirena though if you want long term birth control!.
