Nauseous and headaches everyday; think it's from the pill but not sure! Hel!

Question: Nauseous and headaches everyday; think it's from the pill but not sure! Help!?
I'm 17 years old and I just got on Ortho-Tricylen Low and it's been about a month and a half. Everyday if I don't eat something in the morning or later at night (never in the middle of the day) I get very nauseous but I never throw up. It's just constant nausea and pain. Also, I get headaches about everyday, the one I have now I've had for almost 3 days. I'm so dizzy and everything is kind of blurry at times. My head doesn't always hurt like a normal headache, but something is definitely not right. I used to get headaches before, and these headaches aren't the same. The nauseousness and headaches just started after my period which was 2 weeks ago. I've heard some very negative things especially when people have chronic headaches from the pill. Before I go and necessarily change the pill or freak out, I want to see if anyone could help me with this. I'd greatly appreciate it!

Every one has a different experience with oral contraceptives. Seems your body doesn't like this one. You should probably switch to another one until you find what is good for "you"! You are not used to these new hormones so you get nauseous and headaches. To reduce headaches try to drink lots of water every day. It could be that you are dehydrated. That was what my problem was and it really does help! also it makes you healthier and your skin will start to look better too! You could try the patch or that nuvaring think. I tried the ring and i personally didn't care for it because i felt uncomfortable during sexual intercourse. But everyone is different and so are oral contraceptives. good luck!

I think it might be a side effect to the pills. Your probably not used to them. If its bothering you so much you should think about changing them. Go to your doctor&tell her whats wrong with you.

I was on that exact same birth control at your age (I have to be on a higher dose now that I gained weight). It is hard to say if the birth control is causing nausea. I would make sure to eat regularly though. I did have nausea for the first couple of months, but I am also anemic so that might be the problem. However, it is tampering with your hormones, and your body does crazy things when your hormones are off balance. I would try to eat regularly and wait about another month. Also, take an iron supplement for the dizziness. I know how you feel, but try to stick it out. If it doesn't get better, talk to your doctor (or go to planned parenthood and talk to them about it).
