This is to be expected I'm afraid, quite normal most women have pain/cramping/bleeding to a greater or lesser degree in the first few days. Your womb is adjusting to a foreign object being placed inside it.
Take the strongest pain killers you can and try to keep yourself occupied to take your mind off it. You must give it at least a month to settle down, it should ease off soon. I've had mine for 3 and a half years and after the first 2-3 months the bleeding settled down. Luckily I only had cramps for the first few days.
If you are really concerned you should contact your doctor but you should give it chance to settle down.
I have had mine for a year and a half..i bled for a week or so lightly, but no pain..if you are unsure you ought to call the doctor again about this. My menstrual cycle disappeared Straight away. One other thing..i have had recurrent night sweats since i had mine fitted.
