Is this for effectiveness, or just to get use to taking it so you're less likely to forget it?

The reason I was asking is because I'm starting Yaz and the dr. has me starting on the "Sunday Start", and I'm suppose to take the first pill the sunday after I start my period OR on sunday if I start that day. As you know, today is Sunday,and I got my period tonight, but I dont think 8pm is the best time for me to take the pill every day, so I want to take it at a different time starting tomorrow.

Ok, the way the pill works on a Sunday starter is to take the pill the following Sunday after your period. So, if you got your period today, you should start taking it next Sunday. Im sure the birth control pack has instructions about it. If you are still confused, the best way to go about it is to call your doctor's nurse and ask her. Nurses are usually really helpful and very open for you to be able to talk to. The above information i just gave you is because im a Sunday starter as well and i start on a fresh new pack, the following sunday after my period even if i continue to have it (period) then.
