I'm scared to go to the gynecologist..?
I'm almost 21 and I'm scared to death of the gynecologist! I've been once or twice when I was 15 but I never had an exam. It didn't help that the Dr. made fun of me for being scared, he was really old and I think that kinda freaked me out too! But now I want/need to be on birth control but I have anxiety about going back. I don't know what to do...how can i get over this fear???

my opinion is the only way to get over it is to just do it.
ask questions about the doctor, let them know your anxieties and tell them about your past experiences! i also used to hate the gyno but now understand its a way of life and i have to go. now i would rather die than go to the eye doc. hahahaah
your smart for wanting birth control. is there a family center locally that would give it to you? like a family planning center. ? they don't require an exam and they will check you out and give you birth control .
a pelvic exam is nothing really. takes literally 10 mins from start to finish and think of it as a BLIP in your day. you go in, get an early morning appt and you get it over with and you will smile when you leave. :) good luck
