Birth control pills?!

Question:

Birth control pills?

I have a friend who informed me that one of the side effects of taking birth control pills is that you do not get your period. She takes it just for that purpose (she's still a virgin, so...) I was wondering...is it ok to just take birth control pills to not get PMS? Would that be harmful to your body in any way? Because if it's stopping your period & not harmful to your body, then it sounds fine to take it if you hate periods that much.

Answers:

a lot of women actually take the pill for the specific reason you listed. one of my friends is still a virgin. she gets terrible cramps and all sorts of crap that goes with pms, so she went on the pill, and now she is loads better. she still gets her period though, due to the type of pill she takes. there are pills that will stop your period entirly, but you shouldnt take them unless your doctor tells you that you can. odds are if you dont need to, you wont be perscribed the sort of pill that stops your period.
